An example small talk: meeting a visitor at the airport

TRANG IS WAITING FOR JOHN IN FRONT OF THE ARRIVAL HALL

A Excuse me, are you John Dreyer?

B Yes, you must be Miss Trang.

A Very pleased to meet you. How are are you?

B Good, good….but a bit tired.

A Did you get much sleep on the flight?

B I was alright for a while, then a baby started crying and its parents couldn’t calm it down all the way to Bangkok.

A That must have been annoying. So what did you do?

B I put on the headphones and watched the movie…….. Good movie actually.

A What was it?

B Alice in Wonderland……… but not in 3D.

A I saw that a few months ago.

B Because I travel so much, I’ve seen it 3 times in the last month. I wish they’d change their movies more often.

A I see what you mean. Anyway, you’re pretty tired. Would you like to take a nap in the hotel before the 2pm meeting, or would you like to join the management staff for lunch? We can postpone having a meal together until tonight if you like.

B Yeah, a short sleep would be good thanks.

A Excellent, shall we get a taxi?

B Good idea

A TAXI! TAXI!

Dear Mr Richard,

Last month, I purchased a product [name the product] from your company.

Unfortunately there appears to be a problem with it. On the screen, it displays OL1.  Could you please explain this error message? How can I resolve this problem?

In your return mail, could you also please  enclose a user manual for this product.

I looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Mr Phuoc,

Regarding your previous mail about the error message OL1 .

OL1 means Motor Over Load  due to either:
  •         Motor running at low speed for a long time under a  heavy drive load
  •         Sudden change of load

Possible solutions for the problem:

  •         Check or change motor
  •         Check and possibly reduce the load

I hope this information has been useful.

I've  attached a .pdf file of the latest user manual for this product as requested.

If the problem persists or you have any other questions, please contact us again anytime.

Best regards,

John Richard
